Suncoast Schools Federal Credit Union
Whether you are a seasoned saver or just starting out, the new “Smart Start” Certificate provides the ideal union of a money market account and a certificate of deposit, offering the combination of both high rates and liquidity.
Have you ever wished that you could earn more interest than on a regular savings account but waiting until you save the $500 to open it seems like it’s a million years away? Well, I hope you had your seatbelt fastened because Suncoast has just put you in a time machine and that millionth year is here!
That’s right, with the "Smart Start" Certificate, there’s no need to wait until you save $500 to open a certificate. You can open the "Smart Start" with only $50. Then, simply sign up for a minimum $40 monthly payroll deduction or auto-transfer. The interest rate earned will be equivalent to the 2nd tier of our money market accounts (significantly higher than the savings account interest rate). After 12 months, if your balance has reached $500 or more, the certificate will roll over into a traditional 12 month certificate at an even higher rate. That should be easy to do because even if you’re just putting in the minimum $40 per month for 12 months, that would be $480, plus the $50 that you opened the account with takes it over the $500! Do the math. What an easy way to save $500 in a year. Now that’s smart!
