Downey Federal Credit Union
You’ve got your own money.  Why not keep it in your own credit union account?  All you need to do is open a CU Succeed Savings Account with a $25 deposit and a valid form of identification. You may even be eligible to open a CU Succeed Checking Account with just a $20 deposit and a parent or guardian as a joint owner. Or, obtain a Visa® ATM/Debit card where you can access your money at over 28,000 fee-FREE CO-OP®   ATMs (automated teller machines).

Downey FCU provides the CU Succeed.net website, specifically designed for young people from 13-18 years old.  It has information on a variety of topics such as teen-written articles, links to other websites and great advice ranging from handling credit to how to buy a new car. Stop by the Main Branch to pick up the most recent issue of the CU Succeed quarterly newsletter.

Downey FCU offers other programs in Downey high schools. Our Community Development Representative is available to give presentations in Downey schools on how to manage money, credit cards and interest, and the true cost of credit.

To further financial literacy among teens, Downey FCU also sponsors “Making the Right Money Moves”, a program designed to help teens learn about credit unions and how to manage their finances.  Topics here include obtaining credit, writing checks and reconciling your checkbook. This program is taught in high schools throughout Downey.

Downey FCU sponsors teen promotions throughout the year.  Teens can win great things from the Credit Union such as video games, cash, music and more!   Stop in at the Main Branch and sign up for your new CU Succeed Savings Account today. Start planning for your future!
